Viva #1 is the first boat in a series of 3 hulls of the same shape.
The hull is cedar strip with redwood decks and douglas fir trim. She is
19' 7'' LOA. LWL is variable depending on weigh of rower. This boat has
a lot of rocker and rides up and over most waves. This boat has large decks
covering lots of foam, and a 1" coaming. I rarely take on any water
in these boats. This boat weighs an estimated 43-45 Lbs, not including
the Piantedosi rigger and oars. This boat can be rigged with a device to
lock the oars, blades flat, so that the shell can be used for fly
fishing.
